Project Dates

Projects have three layers of dates:

  • Project Start/End dates
  • Role Start/End dates
  • Engagement Start/End dates

Project start date and end dates

These are set when the project is created.  If the project has been shared with you, these dates cannot be changed.

If you have created your own project to edit the start and end dates, navigate to the ellipsis icon. Select Edit Project Details

For information on extending project end dates, see Extend Project End Date.

Role start and end dates

These are created when the Project Role is added. If the Project roles have been shared with you, these dates cannot be changed.

To update the Role start and end dates, navigate to the Project view, select the ellipsis icon on the role you want to edit. Click Manage.

Engagement start and end dates

The default engagement dates are the start and end date set when the project was created. The dates can be updated at an individual personnel level by navigating to your confirmed personnel. Click on the dates to pop out the options.

The Inherit Engagement Dates from Role Dates checkbox is enabled by default when a personnel is added to a role. This ensures the personnel’s engagement dates automatically align with the role's duration.

  • Enabled: Personnel's engagement dates automatically link to and cascade from the role's dates.
  • Disabled (Unchecked): Removes the automatic connection and allows you to manually set custom start and end dates for a personnel's engagement.

Note: The Project and Role start/end dates cannot be updated here.

Once you have completed the necessary updates, click Next.

The notify personnel option appears. This will email your personnel whose engagement dates are linked to the role.

Note: A restriction has been implemented to maintain a logical hierarchy between project, role, and engagement periods. This means a personnel’s engagement dates can no longer extend beyond the role's duration.
